“I did what a lot of guys would probably do. Ignore it, wear a hat, buy stuff at the drugstore, hope it’d go away.”

Max Homa
Real ZORYVE PatientPro golfer Max Homa remembers first learning how to hide his seborrheic dermatitis (seb derm) back in high school. For years after, he got used to covering it up—or just trying not to think about it.
But as time went on, Max's symptoms got worse. The redness and flaking on his face became harder to control, and even harder to ignore. "It would feel so dry and flaky sometimes, that it would feel uncomfortable to move my face," Max recalls. On the golf course, hats helped hide his scalp from the cameras, but his face was different. He kept moisturizer with him everywhere he went and avoided touching his beard just in case it started to flake.
He’s spoken about how seb derm can make him more aware of how his skin might be perceived by others. “Sometimes I'd walk far away from a mirror and be like, ‘Is this as noticeable as it feels?’” he says. He’s also shared that there were moments when he worried people might misunderstand what they were seeing, assuming it was related to hygiene rather than a medical condition.
Max tried moisturizers, creams, and plenty of online "tips," which helped temporarily, but his symptoms kept coming back until he was encouraged to see a doctor. A dermatologist finally helped him understand what seb derm actually is and prescribed ZORYVE.
Now, when Max looks back, he compares finding the right treatment to finding the right set of golf clubs: you can try everything out there, but if it doesn’t fit, it doesn’t help. With ZORYVE, Max finally found something to manage his seb derm and fit his life. “ZORYVE doesn't feel greasy and doesn't change the feeling on my beard or hair. I put it on once a day, wherever I need it.” he says.

“Seb derm is something I deal with every day, and it can make getting ready feel harder,” Stella shares. “I like having something I can use in the morning and then just keep going with my day.”

Stella McDermott
Real ZORYVE PatientFor Stella, seb derm has been part of her everyday life for as long as she can remember. It appears on her face and scalp, and it’s something she deals with constantly. As she got older, she became more aware of how visible it could be.
At times, Stella found herself thinking carefully about her clothing and hair, and getting ready for the day started to feel more complicated than it should have. “Because of flakes and redness, I spent a long time thinking about what other people might notice," Stella recalls. But through it all, her mom reminded her that it was just a skin condition and nothing to be embarrassed about.
Like most high school students, Stella's days are busy. Finding a long-term option that could fit into her daily morning routine mattered. Over time, Stella and her mom searched for options that could work alongside school, activities, and the things Stella loves, like makeup, fashion, and creativity. “I wanted something that fit into my routine without feeling like a big deal," she recalls.
Today, ZORYVE is part of Stella’s morning routine. She uses it right when she wakes up, then continues getting ready for the day, whether that means picking an outfit, doing her makeup, or heading to class. As a senior in high school, she has a lot on her mind—but with clearer skin and less itch, she's happy that her seb derm is one less thing she needs to worry about.
